Mount Cheam live camera, technical details, and how this site was built.
The livestream of Mount Cheam is captured from a fixed camera located in beautiful downtown Agassiz, BC, facing southeast directly toward the peak.
The camera is an IMPORX 4K 8MP IP Box Camera equipped with a SONY IMX415 ultra low-illumination CMOS sensor and 360X zoom capability (36X optical + 10X digital). It supports H.265/H.264 video compression, HDR/WDR for wide dynamic range, and ONVIF/RTMP streaming. Maximum resolution is 3840×2160 at 20fps, with additional streams down to 720p for adaptive performance. The system overlays time/date, and supports brightness, contrast, and mirror adjustments.
The external housing includes a thermostat-controlled heater and fan, keeping the camera stable in winter cold, fog, or summer heat. This ensures reliable continuous operation in all Fraser Valley conditions.
Everything from this camera is considered public. You may freely use screenshots, timelapses, or video clips for personal, educational, or commercial purposes. Attribution is appreciated: “MountCheam.ca.
The live video is delivered using IPCamLive, a cloud-based service for IP camera streaming. The camera pushes an RTMP/ONVIF feed to the platform, which then distributes it efficiently to viewers worldwide. IPCamLive also handles adaptive playback, time-lapse creation, and browser/mobile compatibility.
